With the popularization of truck, people have higher demands and put forward higher requirements for the ride comfort. However, the current commercial dynamics simulation software can not meet the requirements of practical engineering in the aspects——the convenience of dynamics modeling, simulation and optimization efficiency. These problems have become technical bottlenecks to control the vibration and improve the truck ride comfort. Therefore, this research is aimed at developing a simulation system for truck ride comfort with the advantages of simplicity of operator and ease of use based on MATLAB GUI module and realizing parametric modeling in the true sense. The main research content is as follows:Firstly, the truck ride comfort dynamics model is established. According to the features of the truck, the model of the truck is simplified and multi-rigid-body system dynamics model of eleven degrees of freedom is established. Cardan angles are selected to express the attitude of multi-rigid-body system to establish kinematic relations between rigid bodies. By using the modeling theory of multi-rigid-body system dynamics, the truck ride comfort dynamics model and the dynamics equation of eleven degrees of freedom are established.Secondly, time domain model of random input with four wheels correlated road surface is established. To lay the foundation for time domain simulation of the truck ride comfort, IFFT is used to establish time domain model of random input with four wheels correlated road surface. The power spectral density by simulating in this paper and standard road spectrum fit well, and correctness of time domain model is verified.Thirdly, time domain simulation system for truck ride comfort is developed and verified. To easy operation and application for the engineers and technical staffs, time domain simulation system for truck ride comfort is developed based on GUI module of MATLAB. Taking a type of the truck for example, the truck ride comfort is simulated on time domain. From two aspects of software and experiment, the correctnees of simulation model and simulation results by using the system are verified.Finally, the stability for truck ride comfort is simulated. To explain the ride comfort instability phenomenon in the truck, this paper uses numerical simulation to study. The simulation result indicates that there is definitely nonlinear instability phenomenon in the vibration system and the instability region is match with actual situation generally, which explains the phenomenon. And results of numerical simulation show that the rational increase of damping coefficient not only can eliminate the instability phenomenon of nonlinear vibration system, but also reduce the response amplitude.
