With the development of automobile industry in our country and the acceleration of the national industrialization, the heavy-duty dump trucks make great contribution in the field of transportation and engineering construction, and given more and more attention. It gives the engineering specialized automobile market the huge development space to improving the riding comfort of the heavy-duty dump truck and increasing the transporting efficiency. This paper builds the virtual prototype model of the heavy-duty dump truck with3d modeling software and ADAMS according TY-1heavy-duty dump truck’s parameters, introduces the attainment of the important model parameters, and verifies the quality parameters with the actual vehicle model. The results show the model is credible.This paper compiles the ride comfort evaluation function and computation program according to the national standard regulations, and generates random road surface and roof road surface for the heavy dump truck ride comfort simulation. The evaluation index of ride comfort is the total root mean square value of weighted acceleration on floor under the cab seat. The relation between the riding comfort of TY-1heavy-duty dump truck and vehicle speed, vehicle load and the surface level is analyzed on kinds of condition without the engine vibration stimulus. The absolute maximum acceleration is used to evaluate the ride comfort on the roof road surface. This paper also studies the relation between the ride comfort of the heavy dump truck and front or rear suspension stiffness. The results can be taken as the reference of the improvement of heavy dump truck ride comfort.In this paper, part of the parameters affecting the ride comfort is optimized based on test optimization technique. The influence of different combination of multiple factors is analyzed. Finally, the results show that the ride comfort is better after optimizing than before.The virtual prototype technology is the core in the whole research process of modeling, simulation analysis and optimization of TY-1heavy-duty dump truck. The virtual prototype technology can improve product design quality, shorten the development cycle, and saving costs. It will improve design and analysis levels of Auto industry.
