With the deepening of the seismic research, people began to realize the role of seismic effects on the structure is multidimensional. Coupled with the continuous improvement of the level of awareness and technical means, while during the time history analysis of the structure, researchers have begun to focus on the impact of bidirectional seismic actions. The study found that no matter whether the structure is regular or not, the response of the structure under bidirectional seismic actions would be improved a lot than the unidirectional one. In order to reflect the response rules in a more comprehensive and real way, the role of the multi-dimensional impact of the earthquake should be considered. These studies have focused on the limited displacement, force and other indicators under the current seismic design method, much little research on energy. In this paper, theoretical analysis is combined with numerical simulation. With the help of the software Perform-3D, and take the frame-core wall’s energy response analysis as means, the comparative research of frame-core wall’s energy response under unidirectional and bidirectional seismic action is conducted. Firstly, using "2+1" selection method according to the principle of Chinese seismic code, Compare deformation, internal force and the distribution of the energy items under unidirectional and bidirectional seismic actions by contrast, to prove that bidirectional earthquake action can not be ignored.Secondly, by choosing a certain number of seismic wave with different peak ground acceleration and different inputting angle, unidirectional and bidirectional seismic impact on the total input energy as well as the proportion of energy items, the changes in hysteretic energy and damping energy consumption is mainly researched. Finally, hysteretic energy is closely related to the structural damage accumulation, comparative analysis of hysteretic energy should be focused on different types of members and the overall distribution along the height, then by means of nonlinear regression fitting method, The simplified formula of hysteretic energy distribution along the height can be derived.
