With the continuous development of Anti-seismic measures, people graduallyrealize that the effects of earthquake ground motion and structure are multi-dimensional,and the earthquake ground motion record also contains six direction motion components. As a result of the limitation of cognition level and technology, when researchers studythe structure dynamic characteristics, they often adopt the planar analysis model, consider the related features of single horizontal seismic, and ignore bi-directionalhorizontal seismic action. In fact, the structure effect under bi-directional horizontalearthquake action compared with single horizontal seismic action is improvedregardless of regular structures or irregular structures. Therefore, in order to reflect thereaction regularity of structure under the earthquake actually and comprehensively, weshould consider the influence of the multi-dimensional seismic action based on spacemodel. In this paper, by means of Perform-3D, study frame-core tube structure reactionrules under single and bi-directional seismic by dynamic time history analysis due tosmall earthquake and intensive earthquake. Using the “2+1” inputting method, studyelastic and elastic-plastic dynamic time history analysis of the structure under single andbi-directional seismic action. And in the elastic stage, focus on internal forces ofconstruction member, give a large number of statistics about the worst effect undersingle and bi-directional seismic action. In order to use in seismic design effectively, this paper provides some advises about seismic code. In order to find out the mostharmful inputting angle, consider top floor maximum displacement as characteristicvalue. This article focuses on the displacement-time history response of top floor, maximal floor displacement and inner-story drifts ratio. At the same time focuse on the vary regular pattern of the top floor maximum displacement under bi-directional seismicrecords of different inputting angles, and also inspect energy dissipation under singleand bi-directional seismic action.
