Heritage’s view across the history and time, and has the contact of the current human life, so the city and building become the carrier of culture and life, the activities of the carriers and the carriers themselves carry to form the urban heritage. The dialogue between heritage and modern people, the relationship between the heritage and contemporary life are reflecting the values of heritage today.Xi ’an is China’s important base for higher education, colleges and universities play an important role in xi ’an, it continues the culture of the city, is bearing the weight of the daily life of the Xi ’an one over ten of the population. This paper is intended to to teaching building as the main research object, research of Xi ’an college campus and buildings of historical evolution, survival status, culture and life, and conveys to the construction of colleges and universities of Xi ’an from the perspective of heritage comprehensive understanding and the understanding, summarizes the construction of colleges and universities in the modern history of college teaching building process, analysis of the changes in the different periods of design features and study its role in the city.
