In this article, analyses and designing for the water-jet propulsion of a V-type yacht. First, designed the water-jet propulsion system for the target yacht. After constructed the simulation by MATLAB/Simulink, getting the results of yacht; Then analyzed the hydraulic performance of water-jet propulsion pump by CFD. At last verification and rational the result by both Simulink and CFD, make sure the research in this article provide the reliable basis for designing the water-jet propulsion yacht.This article conducted the following several aspects:1) Concluded the data of engine and water-jet propulsion pump based on the yacht type、size、performance requirement, this includes pump type、flow、head、rotate speed、speed ratio, etc. Built geometry model by Pro/E based on the basic case of pump size、main components and impeller, defined the physical material properties.2) Simulated the water-jet propulsion system based on the theory of engine and water-jet propulsion equilibrium by MATLAB/Simulink, then compared the results of IFP-Engine of AMESim and Simulink; After built the curve of engine performance, simulated the dynamic performance of target yacht, checking date of water-jet propulsion system.3) Built geometry model by Pro/E based on the basic case of the rotor and stator, then imported into the CFD of COMSOL Multiphysics. Calculated and analyzed the rationable of mesh at different circumstances. CFD was used for numerical simulation of 3、4、5rotors and 6~10 stators, determined the reasonable number based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of acceleration and rectification.4) Analyzed the flow and hydraulic performance of water-jet propulsion axial-pump by CFD. Determined the reasonable of flow. After compared the result of Simulink with acceleration and rectification for flow, head and efficiency of pump, determined the target pump and yacht was consistent. Finally, analyzed the pressure changed trend of rotor and stator at the target rotate speed, concluded the possible of cavitation, provided evidence for water-jet propulsion pump run reliably.
