Yacht design and manufacture is still a relatively new industry in China. According to the market and manufacture’s need, the65’yacht was designed. This article described the detailed design in the following aspects:the hull design, structural design of the yacht, yacht performance analysis and yacht control system.In order to meet the requirements of different customer groups, the design of the main hull considered straight shaft drive and Z-drive to make the same main hull mold to meet both requirements. Straight shaft drive can lower the total cost of the yacht, so as to meet the requirements of the low-end customers; Z-drive (Volvo Penta IPS system) can bring better performance of the yacht, but the cost is higher, it can meet the requirements of high-end customers.In terms of the arrangement, according to the individual characteristics of conventional propeller and the IPS propulsion, basic and luxury configurations were designed. Compare with the luxury configuration, the control performance, performance of the yacht and comfortableness of the basic configuration is not so good.For the structural design, since the domestic yacht’s specification is not perfect, the design just followed the domestic criterion. The cost accounting of the standard hull structure was conducted with the ISO standard. FRP boat with a sandwich plus core structure selected multi-axial glass fiber fabric and unidirectional fabric, the resin used is a combination of vinyl and polyester resin.For the electrical design, based on the NMEA2000network control system, whole yacht network control system was designed for high-end customers, its function can reach the level of whole yacht real-time monitoring by the owner around the world. Also the basic configuration of a conventional electrical control system was designed.
