With the widely used of ZTR mower, more and more attention be paid to its riding comfort.The riding comfort of the ZTR mower not only impact on passengers’ comfort and the ability to work, but also impact on expression of power performance, working life of auto parts and so on. Therefore, it has practical significance to research on the riding comfort of the ZTR mower.Riding comfort of ZTR mower is discussed and WBZ12219K-S ZTR mower is taken as the research object. First, a mechanics model of this ZTR mower is established. The vibration differential equation is deduced based on Lagrange equation method. The concept of transfer function is introduced, The frequency response function, the displacement response spectrum matrix, the acceleration response and the displacement response variance are deduced. Center of gravity, moment of inertia and other parameters of this ZTR mower are experimental measured based on the mass reaction method, the compound pendulum and so on.Then, the simulation model is established in Matlab/Simulink. The filter white noise method is applied for simulating the lawn road based on the theory of road roughness. The riding comfort of the ZTR mower is simulated in Matlab/Simulink.In order to verify the correctness of the simulation model, an experimental scheme is designed and a test system is built up. The experiment of WBZ12219K-S ZTR mower’s riding comfort is implemented on the golf course. Contrasting the experiment and the simulation results, the simulation model is verified as correct and effective.The influence law the CG(Center of gravity) position for the riding comfort of the ZTR mower is analyzed based on the Matlab/Simulink model which is verified. The function relationship between the CG position and the acceleration RMS(root mean square) of driver’s seat is fitting based on the least square method. Then, the CG position of the ZTR mower is optimized in Matlab. Finally, the optimization result is compared. Some suggestions of the CG position for improving the riding comfort of the ZTR mower is put forward. It will be a reference for studying on the riding comfort of the ZTR mower and also a reference for other vehicles which are similar with mower in the future.
