As the development of laser industry, the high-power DPSSL is playing a more and more important role in many aspect of life, which make request of its power supply is also getting higher and higher. Semiconductor laser diodes is a current sensing device, the injected current determines its output power and wavelength directly. Therefore, Pulsed current source technology is the core technique of the laser power supply. This paper is a study of DPSSL drive power technology. The output current wave is required to be approximately rectangular pulse that the top of each pulse should be smooth and rising and falling pulse should be completed in a short time.First of all, by introducing of the semiconductor laser works, this paper presents the design requirements of laser drive power. Several pulse current source technology are introduced and multi-module cascade topology is chosen as the discharge circuit. On this basis, a novel control scheme that apply the way of switch linear region control is proposed in the paper, which can achieve the output drive current smooth top and expand the output voltage restrictions.Then, the principle of the pulsed current source circuit based on the scheme is analyzed. And the problems in this scheme about the work of multi-module switch, design of current closed loop regulator, selection of power switch and other critical issues are disscussed in detail. Analog circuit is designed to build a PID closed loop regulator to increase dynamic response and improve accuracy. TMS320LF2407 DSP is used to control DA to generate the pulsed current reference signal, which have a linear rising edge. This reference signal and PWM drive signals work together to make multi-module Coordination.Furthermore, in terms of isolation of power supply for the multi-module DPSSL drive power source, a high-frequency-based LCC resonant soft-switching DC/DC converter is designed to charge the storage capacitor. Due to the characteristics of anti-open-load and short-circuit, the converter can meet the requirements for energy supply. One DSP chip is used to control the voltage of the converter, which will be easier to achieve output voltage regulation.Finally, a 260V/40 A low-power experiment is conducted to validate the proposed scheme, the experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of this scheme.
