Missile early warning based on a single platform is a necessary process of the space-based optical warning system. The heading estimation using measurement angles from infrared sensors is one of the key technologies. A fast heading estimation algorithm using mapping matrix is proposed based on the trajectory cutting model. The dissertation also presents a heading estimation algorithm of the maximum posterior estimation according to jet velocity constraint condition. The algorithm is validated by Monte Carlo simulation.This dissertation includes three parts:Chapter II analyses the boost phase characteristics of ballistic missile. Firstly, the coordinates used in this dissertation are introduced. Secondly, the boost phase characteristic is further studied and the model in boost phase is established. Finally, the constraint condition of boost trajectory is researched. These researches are the foundation for the next studies.Chapter III studies the fast heading estimation algorithm of boost phase on single platform based on mapping matrix. Firstly, the heading estimation algorithm of boost trajectory based on trajectory cutting model is introduced, and the shortage of algorithm is analyzed. Secondly, the mapping algorithm among every cutting plane is proposed based on the studies of the internal relation of each cutting plane, and a fast heading estimation algorithm based on mapping matrix is presented. Finally, the algorithm is validated by Monte Carlo simulation.Chapter IV studies the heading estimation algorithm of the maximum posterior estimation according to jet velocity constraint condition. Firstly, a thrust acceleration profile model of unknown parameters is derived. Secondly, the maximum posterior estimation of the state based on jet velocity constraint condition is proposed, the dissertation also analyses the performance of the algorithm. Finally, the algorithm is verified by Monte Carlo simulation.
