Recent years, with the popularization and application of vacuum circuit breakers, operating accident occur frequently when switching the 10 k V shunt capacitor. With the grid structure and load changes become more and more complex, fault cannot be simply attributed to the two operations, closing and opening, but fast opening after closing and other operation should be added, which makes the studies of overvoltage more complex.This paper starts from the actual fault operating characteristics, adapted combination of the basic circuit, the simulation and field tests to analysis the transition of 10 k V shunt capacitors closing, opening, opening after quick closing and opening while the bus side parasitic capacitance variation, such as different operating hours transient process were studied, respectively. The following work has been carried out.Theoretical study of 10 k V shunt capacitor switching transient process, analyzes the voltage and current variation during transient operation. This paper studied the closing, opening and other operations whether it had the bus side of parasitic capacitance or not. In addition, the paper also studied the harmonics for closing and opening of the transient effects.This paper established different single-phase, three-phase simulation models, using EMTP-ATP software for different operating transient simulation studies, get a different operating characteristics of the transient simulation of the conclusions.This paper carried out closing, opening, and closing after opening the gate fast and so different field trials for 10 k V shunt capacitors, to get different transient operating characteristics of experimental conclusions such as inrush and reigniting. Proved bus to ground capacitance change may generate high-frequency currents, which the theoretical analysis results has been verified.The control of vacuum circuit breaker and gate voltage angle precision control Using the new phase control vacuum circuit breaker to make voltage angle precision control while switching in and off, make a comparison of test results under two kinds of vacuum circuit breaker. Experiments show that, the control of vacuum circuit breaker can effectively reduce the switching current and switching overvoltage amplitude phase, thereby reducing the probability of failure caused by operating over voltage.
