With track traffic step into the era of network in most cities in our country, the common influence of sociology, economy, culture and technology, rail transportation buildings become part of city elements, even as a marker of city landscape, as an identification in modern city, the building is not only to satisfy the basic requirements of rail track traffic function, but also coordinate with architecture, natural surrounding.However, the domestic research on station building external form is almost blank, lack of theoretical guidance system and perfect design guidelines, that most design focus on function, but less attention coordinate with architecture, natural surrounding. There have been some discord stations form these are not conducive to city appearance. Therefore, it is worth exploring and solving build economic, practical, beautiful railway station that are coordinate with architecture, natural surrounding to ensure the premise of station function.In the beginning of track circuit and architectural design, if there is a careful analysis of city regional characteristics which the line through, and a fully study of the environment around station, in the meantime, strengthen communication and consultation with the administrative department of planning, design station from the angle of the city, there will be better effect.In view of the problems above, obtain the design strategy and tactics of external morphology of station through basic research on the external morphology of station in the paper, and the investigation of stations in Chongqing, based on lots of examples in and abroad at the same time. Finally, take project in Chongqing for example, hope to provide some ideas for future rail station external form design.This paper consists of seven chapters, divided into six parts:The first part is the first chapter of the article, make an explainsof research background, purpose, related concept and significance of the article, determine the research object, research scope and content of the thesis through research status on stations.The second part of solving cognitive problems, including the second chapter and the third chapter. Mainly directed against the foundation research on external form of station including its evolution, function composition, basic form, size classification and differences in external form with other rail transit architectures. Then summarizes the form characteristics of station at the present stage from the shape, color, material, volume and track line five aspects, including the function characteristics, the way combined with pavement, grounding form, pattern composition and characteristics of each part through the investigation and research of Chongqing. Finally summarizes the external form of the circuit station design.The third part of solution to the problem, the fourth chapter. Analysis influencing factors of station external form and draw a conclusion of design principles through the features the research summaried above.The fourth part strategy to solve problems, the fifth chapter. is design strategy and tactics research on external form of station, based on the previous study on the investigation of domestic and foreign cases. This article carries on the analysis from six aspects:First of all is to embody the characteristics of modern transportation building; Secondly is the response to the natural environment; Thirdiy is the form of concise, respectively from the form, material, color and the footbridge; The fourth is coordinate environment nearby, especially stations in historical zone; The last is to maintain the generality and identification of a line.The fifth part is the case study, the sixth chapter. Take the station external form design strategy summaried above practical application through the design practice in Chongqing.The sixth part carries on the summary to the full text, the seventh chapter. Summarizes the research achievements and shortcomings of this paper, and the future development of this study give an outlook.
