The silt forms by the function of biological, chemical and physical after the deposition of a very slow water environment, its mainly has the characteristics of high strength, low moisture content, permeability and large pore ratio, etc. It has become a big trouble in engineering for a long time. The method of chemical solidification has been widely used because its advantages of easy construction, applicable widely, low prices, fast effect and others. But the most used inorganic solidified materials have a lot of defects, such as low curing efficiency, large affected by organic, easy to crack and poor stability of water. Organic polymer solidified material, by contrast, are long-term stability to solidified soil and make up for the defects. With the rapid development of material science, many new polymer materials overcomes previous polymer materials’ defect, such as toxic and environmental pollution, etc. It makes the solidified silt by polymer materials can show all aspects of the absolute advantage. The research of the new polymer solidified material become a new effective way to solve the problem of silt.In this paper, we selected three kinds of polymer solidified material to solidified silt by mixed with it. Under different dosage of polymer materials through t he unconfined compression test, direct shear test, shrinkage test, the water immersion test and a series of microscopic test, we get the modification effect and its mechanism of the mechanical property, deformation property and water stable performance. The results of the study can provide new ways for treatment of silt problems with scientific basis.Through the study of the research of polymer modified silt, the result shows that:①Polymer materials can improve the strength of the silt soil, the styrene acrylic emulsion is able to improve the effect of the optimal. polymer materials can effectively improve the silt soil shear strength indexes. With 0.6% content of poly acrylate emulsion can increase the cohesive force of around 60%, 0.6% dosage of styrene acrylic emulsion can make Angle of internal friction increase about 5°.②Polymer materials can significantly increase the deformation property of silt soil, and reduce shrinkage caused by water loss under natural conditions. 0.3% dosage of poly acrylate emulsion can reduce 70% deformation of the load of soil. Polymer materials can reduce the soil shrinkage of losing water and shrinkage of line, at the same time, improve the shrinkage limit.③0.3% styrene acrylic emulsion of solidified soil reduce strength degradation after flooding down minimum intensity, only about 30%. Dosage 0.9% poly acrylate emulsion of solidified soil shows the best durability under soaking, still can keep the original specimen in three weeks.④The mixed polymer materials, won’t produce hydration products, but will change low intensity lamellar structure, silt can be solidified by polymer material through microscopic mechanism of the electric double layer, increasing the coupling of soil particles and optimization pore distribution of solidified silt.
