The annual consumption of LPG(liquefied petroleum gas) is huge in China, so LP G is still one of the main gas sources of city gas. LPG storage and distribution system is the link which connects the gas source with the user, whose smooth running plays a key role in users’ daily lives. However, due to the special two phase characteristics of LPG, as well as the discontinuity of the system operation caused by gas load variation, the sys tem may encounter problems including negative pressure in LPG storage tank and surge in LPG hydrocarbon pump.This paper was focused on LPG storage and distribution system, and the basic func tion of the system implementation and process equipment was introduced. Using the pro cess simulation software HYSYS, compressor technical process of liquefied petroleum gas and hydrocarbon pump bottling process was simulated. Unit operations including co mpressor and pipelines, storage tank and,gas liquid separator module were chosen to bu ild the compressor unloading process.Another array of unit operations including hydroc arbon pumps, tanks, pipelines, logistics division, backflow valve, flow control valve mo dule were chosen to establish the hydrocarbon pump bottling process. A thermodynamic simulation has been done separately for each process,each node pressure,temperature, g as liquid two phase flow were obtained.The two phase characteristics of LPG were also analyzed.From the perspective of thermodynamics,the influences of environmental temperat ure, compressor inlet and outlet pressure difference, temperature difference between day and night on LPG compressor working condition of unloading process were investigate d and the influence of bottling variations on hydrocarbon pump bottling process was als o discussed. According to the results of the analysis,system operation principle, control conditions of normal operation were proposed.Finally, through case solutions to the problems of the surge tank negative pressure and hydrocarbon pump surging were put forward...
