As the issue of buildings energy-saving and environmental friendly society has been taken more and more seriously in our country, new building materials, new forms of construction work and advanced technologies must be advocated in construction industry. To cater to this situation, this dissertation intends to study on the low-rise frameless light steel structures made of load-bearing sandwich panels, and combine the study with BIM.Functioning as the load bearing wall panels and roof panels, the sandwich panels in low-rise frameless light steel structures have been taken full uses of in many aspects. They can not only improve the capability of thermal insulating, but also enhance the properties of light weight and enduring strength. All components are prefabricated in factories, transported to the construction sites and then assemble houses on site, which way is standard and industrialized. This kind of structure meets the requirements of environmental protection in the whole lifecycle. The outline of the dissertation mainly includes three parts as following:The study of configuration of low-rise frameless light steel structures which are made of mental faced sandwich panels and nonmetal faced sandwich panels. It mainly focuses on the configuration of joint s between two sandwich panels. The configuration of joints is designed based on the characteristic of the sandwich panels. The mechanical properties of joints are studied to insurance the joint strength.The analysis of the conduct force on the low-rise frameless light steel structures made of sandwich panels to ensure the structural safety. Referring to the panel analysis, the influence of axle load should be considered which caused compression and bending effect,additional moment and concentrated couple. The creep effect of long term loading on the deformation of panels should also be considered. The unified formula of load bearing sandwich panels come out based on the analysis of force and deformation of mental faced sandwich panels and nonmetal faced sandwich panels.The accurate and virtual three-dimensional model is set up by applying BIM model software, which includes the frameless light steel structure and its components. The model exhibits the house structures vividly; especially for the joint configurations. It could be available to conduct clash checking on the model, resolve the deficiencies of structural configurations, simulate the construction process dynamically so as to improve the method of construction work and also the construction procedure, and extract related information from the BIM model directly to get construction statistics.
