Vehicle to Grid technology(V2G) provides an effective means to solve energy and environmental problems. By V2 G technology, the low grid efficiency and automobile exhaust emissions can be partly solved. However, There will be some new problems, such as the optimal charging and discharging strategy, the load fluctuation and the harmonic interferencecan. In response to these problems, this paper mainly focuses on the modeling, the optimal peak shaving control strategy and the harmonic characteristics of V2 G charging station.In order to study the interation between the grid and V2 G charging station, the design demand of the main structurture and charging system topology as well as the distribution system of V2 G charging station has been analysized. Then, the calculation of the main circuit parameters and design of cortrol system considering the modulation strategy and the dead time was given, also the lithium-ion battery model according to the equivalent circuit method was built,which provided a simulation platform to study the influence of the charging station on the grid.In order to evaluate the capacity and benefits of the V2 G charging station in parking lot, two V2 G peak shaving strategies has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, the best regulating service for such charging stations has been analysized, then the calculation of V2 G capacities was given according to driving and parking demand characteristics of EVs. Finally, two optimal peak shaving control strategies has been proposed considering the regional grid daily load characteristics and principles of TOU, and the load characteristics and benefits of two strategies based on Monte Carlo method was analysized in the end.In order to assess the degree of harmonic pollution in V2 G parking lot, the harmonic characteristics has been studied. Firstly, the paper analysized the harmonic generation mechanism, then given the comparative analysis of the harmonic caused by different charging system structure. The THD variation of the charging station was also studied considering the number of chargers and the charging and discharging ratio changes during constant current charging and discharging process. Finally, the harmonic computational methods in engineering of the V2 G parking lot was studied.
