AbstractWith the development of high-tech industries, the production of the steel plate thickness accuracy requirements is also higher, and more and more attentions are payed to the production security. In order to solve this problem, the high precision laser thickness gauge was generated, used in the replacement of the old, the low accuracy and safety factor of the ray thickness gauge, ultrasonic thickness gauge, etc.. Due to the limitation of laser technology, the development of laser thickness gauge is relatively late. To solve these problems, this thesis firstly designs the laser thickness measurement system, which uses the laser sensor as the measuring element and the cylinder as the moving vector to realize the high precision of the thickness of the steel plate. Due to the introduction of the cylinder, reduce production costs, reduce power utilization and energy loss.Firstly, we introduced the development history of the thickness gague, the current development situation and the future development of the laser thickness gauge. According to the design principle, the detection method and the design requirement of the high precision steel thickness measurement system based on the laser sensor, the overall scheme is designed. It includes the following sections: hardware circuit, data acquisition and scan control mode, the model of the thickness data display and storage.Secondly, the hardware circuit structures were mainly discussed.The TMS320F2812 was chosen as the master chip when designing the hardware circuit. In this section, the peripheral circuits of the controller chip were designed,ed including the converter module, serial communication module, limit switch control module, and the solenoid valve drive module. The principles of each part of the design and intended function were also discussed.Thirdly, by using the DSP software development platform CCS3.3, the software system of lower computer including data acquisition and scanning mode selection were designed. In the design of data acquisition, a variety of filtering methods were adopted such as median filtering method, limited amplitude filtering method, extremum filtering method, and composite filtering method. The advantages and disadvantages of each filtering method were compared, and the program flow of every filtering algorithm was designed. For the production needs of users, three kinds of scanning methods were introduced, including reciprocating scanning, interval scanning and fixed point scanning. The use of each scan mode wasintroduced in detail, and the procedure flow of every scan mode was designed in this paper.Finally, a human-computer interaction system based on Visual Studio 2010 platform was built, which realized the function of display thickness curve and provided the optional selectable parameters for users. The most effective data filtering method was obtained by comparing with the thickness data generated in different algorithms. Also analyzed the sources of the error of the laser thickness measurement system. This measurement system designed by this paper can not only meet the design requirements, but also improve the safety production coefficient and reduce the production cost.
