Traffic congestion in urban network is a severe and growing Problem, Which leads to a strong reduction in network reserve capacity. Appropriate traffic signal control strategy can relieve traffic congestion. Because of this, making research on traffic signal control seems important and meaningful. Considering the characters of traffic signal control, this dissertation has researched and discussed in the following areas, including unsaturated regional signal coordination control strategy and method, supersaturated regional coordination control strategy and method, and analysis on application of case of regional transportation technology.For unsaturated area coordination control strategy and method of research, has put forward the “ divide and conquer, face into line, wired into surface ” coordination control strategy on the basis of summary of road network structure. First through the control sub area division of the signal control area, make clear the scope of control region, and to establish a green wave artery model based on hybrid MAXBAND model. Then to set various coordination of trunk road priority level by improving the multi-factor comprehensive binary relative comparison method, break the regional coordination control into the trunk control, and coordination of trunk road with no rules of the closed loop connection, and finally optimize each road control parameters in coordinate order, make as many traffic flow can stop or less straight through the downstream intersection, so as to achieve the goal of optimization of regional traffic.For supersaturated area coordination control strategy and method of research, with active control for guiding ideology, has put forward “external control within the hydrophobic and minimum delay” strategy. First of all, make sure of the edge of the coordination area. In outside areas of the traffic pressure, a red and green wave coordinate control model is established, through the red wave signal control way to ease into the area of traffic volume and use the green wave coordinate internal vehicle dissipate, accelerating regional road network traffic pressure equilibrium. At the same time, single intersection delay model is established based on reach-from the curve, and regional coordinated control model is established. To ease the supersaturated state of regional traffic congestion by inside and outside traffic coordination control.For the proposed optimization model and method in this paper, the concrete procedure in the application of the method is given through the examples or real ones. The accuracy of the model and method was proved through the comparison of relative index obtained by traffic simulated software, and according to the actual operation effect are expounded through regional benefits brought by the signal coordination control.
