A Research On Livable Mode Of Residential For Solitary Elderly In Guangzhou And Its Adaptive Elements

Since the very beginning of the 21 st century, there has been a tendency of populationaging in China, the aging tendency of population no only has been an important factor forsocial economic development, but also a consideration factor for urban and rural planning,therefore, more and more people are focusing on the issue of providing for the aged. As a partof the elderly people, the population of old solitary people is increasing. Right now,home-based care is the mainstream for the aged in China, according to the current situation,provide a suitable living housing dwelling for old solitary people is one important job of carefor the aged.In order to develop a suitable living housing dwelling for old solitary people, this paperselect the old solitary people who live in Guangzhou as study object. The tendency ofpopulation aging in Guangzhou is more severe, and the aging condition is mainly reflected inthe increasing quantity of aging population, the fast growth of the elderly population, thetrend of aging is serious. In recent years, the increasing population of old solitary peoplecaused the problems of care and psychological are more severe. To create a moresuitable residential space for the old solitary people has very important practical implications.In this paper, the people above 60 or elder who live alone in Guangzhou is the mainobject of investigation, and the affordable residential district in Guangzhou is theinvestigation scope. On the basis of the sustainable design principles, this paper summarizedthe living housing dwelling, which meet the needs of the solitary people in Guangzhou, andreveal the basic laws of such residential from the environmental psychology, behavioralscience, architecture and other multidisciplinary perspective.This paper can be divided into four parts. The content the first part are background, theresearch purpose and significance, the research status, the object of research and the scope ofresearch. The main purpose of it is to introduce the tendency of aging and live alone. Thesecond part is chapter 2 and chapter 3, this part summarized the design method of livinghousing dwelling in developed countries and areas, and introduced the living scope of oldsolitary people and their physiological and psychological characteristics. Chapter 4 isthe third part. This chapter summarized the insufficient of adaptability for the elderly people,and analysis the pattern of residential behavior of elderly people who living alone. Theconclusion of this part is base on the investigation of affordable residential district. The lastpart of this paper is chapter 5. The main purpose of this part is to give some design mode ofliving housing dwelling, and some practice and research proposals for improving the livingspace for the living alone people in Guangzhou.
