Subway, known as urban rail transit system, serves to support urban public transportation. Once it is caught in fire, explosions and other emergencies, factors involving deep underground, complex internal structure and no natural light intake etc. make passenger evacuation difficult and challenging, leading to larger chances of casualties and economic losses when it is dealt with improperly. Due to unpredictability of emergencies, coupled with disadvantaged conditions, limited survival time and chaos in behavior of passengers, passengers would have fewer opportunities to rescue. However, if preparation has been made in advance and subway station emergency evacuation is carried out in accordance with established evacuation plan purposefully, passengers could grasp the utmost chance of survival by evacuating in an organized way instead of escaping aimlessly.Establishment of subway passenger evacuation emergency information distribution system by the high-tech support could ensure a quick respond from emergency management departments, an accurate, efficient and timely transmit of information. This system would enhance capabilities to deal with emergency in subway station, therefore achieving the purposes of passengers’ rapid and safe evacuation.The paper suggests systematical research and implementation methods on information distribution of subway evacuation emergency system based on GIS (Geographical Information System). This study is carried out at the basis of expert theory and through analysis on types of emergencies, behaviors of passengers under emergencies and the formation of signs and evacuation equipment.This system mainly includes the acquisition of information of subway emergency evacuation, collection of basic information under various emergent conditions, reasonable deduction and analysis of identity and equipment, the establishment of comprehensive data base, indication of identity information in contingency plans and flow route of evacuation in GIS. What’s more, preliminary system to achieve human-computer interaction interface is designed in this paper, which assists in safe operation of subway system and effective evacuation of passengers.This paper focuses on key factors to achieve emergency evacuation and elaborates on entire framework, function templates and establishment of database of information distribution of passenger emergency evacuation system and develops relevant software to facilitate emergency evacuation.With progressive improvement and perfection, methods of information distribution of subway evacuation would play a key role in managing complex and huge flow of passengers and enhancing ability of evacuation for subway systems, which indicates profundity of research in this paper.
