On the roofs of all the buildings in the building envelope are most vulnerable to the Sun’s radiation, and therefore most likely to get heat. A lot of heat through the roof into the room resulting in top-tier household indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort is poor, in building design, therefore parts of the roof requires focus and attention. Building development trend is gradually converted into energy-saving, environmental protection, strategic integration of sustainable development into construction, making it an important policy of China. Hot summer in XI ’ an, often continuous hot weather, severely affected by the high temperature in summer on the top floor room at room temperature, so the study of roofing insulation effect on indoor thermal environment of top-floor rooms are important. Not only that, the summer roof insulation has little effect on cost and energy-saving benefits are much in evidence, it is an important direction to decrease building energy consumption.This paper will be on the XI ’ an investigation of the roof as well as the double roof and test study of reflective roofing, and combined with the results of previous studies to identify advantages and existing problems of thermal insulation roofing. By DeST software simulations, focusing on analysis of effect of different thermal environment of roof on the top-floor rooms, ventilation and reflective roofing, roof insulation and roofing of residential energy consumption simulation concluded that under the conditions of different roofing summer top-floor rooms indoor thermal environment and energy consumption of the room for future research references a number of application of building energy saving technology in XI ’ an. Based on research and simulation testing of insulated roof in Xian, combined with the realities on the ground in Xian for XI ’ an insulated roof design strategy is proposed, and modifying the existing roof insulation roof put forward their own ideas, in the hope that these design strategies can serve as reference to future roof design in XI ’ an.This study explored the harmonious development of man and nature, using green energy design, gives roof a new value, making it a conducive environment, conducive to the development of the architectural style.
