Precision engineering technology is widely used in the field of advanced technology, such as aerospace and precision machinery and so on, but with the rapid development of science and technology, various areas are in urgent demand for micro system, so it is urgent to develop a simple and reliable micro system.Micro motion platform is usually refers to mechanism that travel in millimeter and sensitivity and accuracy in the sub micron. It mainly includes micro actuator and micro positioning the two part, micro driving part can converse the electricity energy into displacement and force, and the micro positioning transfer the displacement and force to micro-platform.The giant magnetostrictive material is a new kind of functional material, it has strong bearing capacity, large output displacement, short response time and power density ratio advantages, it has been used as driving source applied to precision machining, active vibration control and linear actuator and so on. Flexible hinge can be thought of as a transmission mechanism of a unique structure, it uses the reversible elastic deformation of elastic material to produce the required displacement or rotation, compared to the traditional mechanical transmission,flexible hinge has the advantages of high precision, small size and no return gap and so on.This paper begin with micro actuation technology and micro positioning technology these two aspects, in order to use the giant magnetostrictive materials and flexible hinge structure, design a micro-platform based on giant magnetostrictive actuator. First of all, This paper introduces the micro positioning technology and micro actuation technology as the background, respectively corresponding to the flexible hinge institutions, as well as the giant magnetostrictive materials and actuators. At the same time, review of current research on giant magnetostrictive actuator and micro platform home and abroad, and then introduces the significance and main research contents of this paper. Then, according to the magnetostrictive actuator principle, this paper design a giant magnetostrictive actuator, the closed magnetic circuit and the cooling system structure, and complete bar selection and coil parameters calculation work. Then, using finite element analysis method and the use of electromagnetic analysis module in Ansys software, complete the actuator electromagnetic simulation, and combine with the data to analysis the characteristics of magnetic of closed magnetic circuit, coil and other components. After that, establish the mathematical model of the fillet flexible hinge, analysis the factors of the hinge stiffness, design the micro amplifier platform based on flexible hinges, complete the static analysis and modal simulation by using Workbench software. Then, establish giant magnetostrictive actuator dynamics model and calculates the transfer function of the system, design the PID control program and the apply Simulink software to simulate it, and also test actuator for open-loop control experiment to the test its output characteristics. Finally, summarize the research contents, process and results of this paper, and further the problem and work in the future.
