Slewing system of crawler crane is composed of slewing drive mechanism and slewing bearing device. At present, crawler crane normally uses rolling bearings slewing bearing as slewing bearing device. But with weight and lifting moment increasing, the load of slewing bearing device is increasing and the structure size is too large, so the transport size requirements can not be meet.slewing system combined wheel-rail and rolling bearings slewing bearing can meet the requirements to achieve rotation. wheel-rail slewing system is to rely on rolling contact of wheel on track to achieve rotation. Relationship of wheel and track is a complex and fundamental question and especially as the national "863" project. Contact question is the basis of the relationship. Establish carrying capacity of wheel-rail and the influence of material properties on contact stress.In the case of multiple load, using Hertz contact theory and finite element method can analyze elastic wheel-rail contact. Comparing the maximum contact stress between wheel and rail calculated by the two methods, the error of calculation results is within 7%,and within the error range of engineering. So using elastic contact finite element model established by the ANSYS software to simulate the wheel-rail contact is rational and acceptable.Analyze the wheel and track’s elastoplastic contact using the ANSYS software, and determine the relationship between stress and strain hardening model for linear elastic plastic. To determine whether to enter the rail material yield using the Von Mises criterion, and compared the Elasto plastic analysis results and the result of elastic analysis, we can find that the elastoplastic analysis of wheel rail materials show better carrying capacity, When the wheel load is 226-227t, the tail’s material enter to the yield step, When the wheel load is 240-245t, the wheel enter to the yield step.In order to research the influence of material properties on wheel-rail elasticity contact, base on orthogonal test, selecting elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio of materials as the four factors and every factor has four level values and selecting maximum contact stress between wheel and rail as targets. Analysis finds that the influence of elastic modulus of track on exposure is the biggest, followed by elastic modulus of wheel,Poisson’s ratio of wheel and Poisson’s ratio of track.
