In recently years, Domestic hoisting industry is starved of big hoisting tonnage CrawlerCrane, Under the circumstances it is unprecedented opportunity for domestic Crawler Craneindustry, however domestic crawler crane industry is faced with huge challenge, Because thescale of domestic and overseas equipment is more and more large and modern engineeringproject is increasingly strict with the security of Crawler Crane, but the design procedures andprocessing technology of domestic Crawler Crane is immature, designed product remainspotential quality problem, and more, domestic crawler crane is more heavy and costly thanthe same tonnage product of oversea.Domestic Crawler Crane design product generally uses analysis method to checksecurity and reliability. This technology is mature for checking jib system of Crawler Crane,but there is not accurate and mature formula for rotary table and classis structure of CrawlerCrane. Existing research method of FEM for checking the security of rotary table and classisof Crawler Crane is imperfect and there is not sufficient experimental data to conformeffective and reasonable. So it is hard to assess the security and reliability accurately fordesigned rotary table and classis of Crawler Crane using analysis method and existing FEM.Crawler Crane lightweight is the development tendency of Crawler Crane industry, it notonly help enterprise make cost reduction but also help make energy saving and environmentalprotection. Now lightweight technology generally uses FEM to solve optimization design forstructure, and it has preferable lightweight result for some simple structure, but lightweightresult and structure security after lightweight is base on the accuracy of designed computationmodel.The content of this paper is based on lightweight design project of turntable and classisof Crawler Crane, which comes from the contract that signed by Mechanics Laboratory of JinLin University and XCMG Construction Machinery.The main work and research achievement of the paper are as follows: (1) It summarized the development overview of domestic and overseas Crawler Craneindustry, and analyzed the coming chance and challenge of Crawler Crane, and analyzed theadvantages and disadvantages of the theory research achievement for the classis of CrawlerCrane and urgent unresolved problems, and proposed new research method for the track-frameand the foundation of Crawler Crane.(2) It simply introduced the structure of turntable and classis, and systematically learnedand practiced the finite element method software ANSYS, compiled multi-condition batchcompute procedure that can do FEM calculation and can automatic process the FEM result,which can save compute time and result disposing time.(3) Track-frame monomer calculation model and calculation model of the truss structurefoundation and calculation model of reinforced concrete foundation for Track-frame andfoundation respectively were built to analysis the strengh and stiffness of track-frame andframe using ANSYS, and contrasted the effectiveness and advanced nature of the threecomputational model.(4) Stress experiments were implemented in the Crawler Crane chassis structure, thestress data is obtained under the experimental conditions, and the stress data is compared withthe finite element results. Track-frame test result shows that the calculation model ofreinforced concrete foundation is consistent with the stress test data, it is followed by thecalculation model of the truss structure foundation, the last is the track-frame monomercalculation model. Frame test result shows that the calculation model of reinforced concretefoundation and the calculation model of the truss structure foundation computational modelare consistent with the stress test data.(5) The actual weight of the track-frame and the frame of this study is heavier than othercomparable products in the domestic and the foreign. In order to improve the competitivenessof products, and reduce manufacturing costs and attract customers, lightweight design isimplemented in the track-frame and the frame, after lightweight design, strength stiffnessanalysis is implemented in the track-frame and the frame. Lightweight design weight of thetrack-frame and the frame decreased by7.8%and6.68%, track-frame and frame oflightweight meet the strength and stiffness requirements, the track-frame and frame of lightweight not only reduces manufacturing costs, and indirectly reduce transportation fuelconsumption, improve the competitiveness of products.
