With the development of crane industry, crawler crane is becoming huger and more complicated, its rising height, radius and weight are increasing. As a result, more advanced design method is acquired, especially to long boom system. At present, the length of its boom can be more than 100m, it's easy to imagine how obvious its bending deformation will be with so much weight at the top of the boom , its dynamic property is especially patency during slewing and luffing. So the research of dynamic property of the boom and the whole crane is necessary. On the background of QUY 350 crawler crane project which is developped by Dalian construction machinery institute, the virtual prototype of crawler crane based on the theory of rigid-flexible multibody dynamic is built in this paper. Combination with the software in existence, the virtual prototype modeling technology of crawler crane based on the theory of rigid-flexible multibody dynamics is done aim at the complicated system, and compared with the conventional computing, proved this technology is practical.(1) the reaserch of simulation and analysis of some typical work of crawler crane; This paper analyzed the influence of different system parameter to dynamic property, and compared with the conventional computing, proved the virtual prototype technolgy based on the theroy of rigid-flexible nultibody dynamic aim at the complicated system is practical, which is a reference to the dynamic simulation of other complicated mechanical system.(2) the research of the combination of mechanical and hydraulic slewing system of crawler crane. This paper also analyzed the combination of hydraulic and mechanical slewing system, and proved this kind of simulation is practical, which can provide a sound method to the simulation of complicated mechanical system and a convenient scientific access to product design.
