Railway Crossing Signal Equipment Remote Monitoring System

With the enhancement of economic strength, the traditional transportation mode, railway transportation, is the most important mode of transportation. Its volume is increasing constantly. As the railway technology in our country, especially in the high-speed rail technology matures, currently operating railway train speed has reached more than 200 kilometers per hour. As one of the important equipments, the railway crossing signal devices ensures the safe running of railway. It will directly related to the safety of railway traffic. Due to long distance along the railway in our country and the railway crossing equipments have a wide distribution, it is not convenient to manage them centrally. To improve the management level of the railway signal equipment, this paper studied the signal equipment remote monitoring system. By gathering the system analog and switch quantity information, the system completes the signal equipment monitoring in real time. Through the signal system of real-time monitor and record the basic running condition, the system can find equipment problems and alarm in time. It notifies the railway maintenance staff to take effective measures to eliminate the faults rapidly. So after this monitoring system used in railway crossing, it can ensure the safety of the transportation of railway crossing, improve transport efficiency, greatly reduce traffic accidents which are caused by the railway crossing signal equipments failure. This paper mainly completed the following work:(1) Combined the advanced embedded technology with the traditional crossings control method, this system implements the acquisition of analog and switch signals information on railway crossings.(2) The system setups a database of monitored crossing signal data, records, statistics and analysis the collected signal equipment running status data, and alarm when they excessive a standard.The signal monitoring system successfully implemented a real-time monitoring of railway crossing equipment. It also has the characteristics of low cost, multifunction and implement easily. If the railway crossing signal equipments are installed at all the railway crossing, it can completely solve the difficult of the crossing management. At same time, the probability of crossing accidents will reduce greatly.
