| Tapper bearing rolling torque is very critical performance in in Rear Axle manufacturing process, improper rolling torque of assembly will cause high temperature and lower bearing life. My thesis bases on the process analysis and improvement of tapper rolling bearing assembly to Hypoid gear in rear axle, developed a new measuring device to measure bearing rolling torque before assembly to Hypoid gear and also measured bearing rolling torque after assembled in the rear axle, make sure Nut run-down and preload station machine can use actual tapper rolling torque value as nominal target to rundown Hypoid Pinion nut properly and get good preload of bearing.The thesis analyzed the causes and consequence of tapper bearing rolling torque, improved current tapper bearing assembly process to measure bearing rolling torque prior to assembly to Hypoid Pinion while still maintain the current bearing height measurement system. Emphasizes the mechanic and electrical requirement for new measuring device system, we studied the machine structure and main procedure of machine, specified the motor size and installation requirement, design the complex fixture to load Head and Tail tapper rolling bearing easily, designed the cylinder system to apply proper load to both bearings, so bearings can be driven at certain speed, also designed rolling torque measurement unit and bearing height measurement unit.At last, we did a good experimental to measure tapper rolling bearing torque prior to assembly, and GR&R is less than 10%, which means the measuring system is capable and stable. Then we also measured the real bearing rolling torque at Hypoid Pinion nut station, and these value match the value we got in bearing rolling torque measurement system, process capability index is more than 1.67, all these data proved out the measuring system can fit for our manufacturing process with accuracy and stability. |
