In recent years, the state has develop the scale of power equipment vigorously, power at all levels have been greatly developed, and short-circuit current of the power system has been more and more higher, and the high short-circuit current now had a serious impact on the reliability of the power system operation. Therefore, when a fault current has not reached the peak to quickly cut off the short circuit current to open and close the circuit breaker in terms of speed and the same period put forward higher requirements.The traditional permanent mechanism, in terms of closing with the vacuum circuit breaker the characteristic match nice, but the reaction is slow, satisfied with the rapid opening requirements.The principle of electromagnetic repulsion mechanism making use of eddy current repulsion due to its simple structure and a small number of parts, a short touch time, to complete sub-closing action in a very short period of time, and become the industry’s concern and focus of research in the relevant field. Output the characteristics of electromagnetic repulsion mechanism unimodal pulse, and the characteristics of reaction force about vacuum circuit breakers complexes more better, but the match of the closing with load characteristics is poor, use its closing operation performed, therefore at the overtravel stage the mechanism’s velocity will be declined. Based on this, we propose a new modular operating mechanism rely on repulsion mechanism to achieve rapid opening and driving, relying on the permanent closing mechanism to achieve stability maintained.The structure and electrical parameters change of the fast electromagnetic repulsion mechanism is extremely important about the dynamic characteristics. Firstly, we adopted the monostable permanent magnetic holding mechanism as the holding mechanism and calculate three different sizes of the permanent mechanism about its retention curve, we analyze the main factors about holding force, and permanent impact on the mechanism’s characteristics. Based on this we proposed the design process method for 12 kv 630A circuit breaker, we analyzed various factors impact on the operation speed about repulsion mechanism(including the metal plate, the radius, resistivity, coil turns, the radius, the thickness of the metal plate and the coil distance, capacity of the capacitor, voltage, etc.) to find the influence of these factors on the size and duration of action of repulsion, through simulation analysis were performed to correct and modify the design to obtain the desired effect, and finally to verify the feasibility of the method.In this paper, we had studied on the design and research on the key technologies about the high speed electromagnetic repulsing mechanism. First, determine the structure of the program bodies, and then calculate structural parameters of analysts by a mathematical mode, and use the finite element and multi-body dynamics simulation analysis software to validate the key issues which affect the electromagnetic repulsion Kinematic and closing bounce, to improve High-speed electromagnetic repulsion mechanism performance and efficiency provide the basis.
