UHV magnetically saturated controllable reactor can change the corresponding parameters in power system are fast response, by adjusting the DC control winding in circulation to achieve a smooth adjustment of the electric network reactive power, has been widely used in power system. This paper focuses on the study of the problem of how to realize the reactive power problem of the continuous smooth adjustment and compensation network.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Reading related literature at home and abroad, understanding the purpose and significance of the research topic, and summarizes the research status of magnetic saturation controllable reactor and reactive power compensation. Finally, the development course of the magnetic saturation controllable reactor and the commonly used reactive power compensation device are analyzed and by comparing that controllable reactor as a reactive power compensation device has advantages.(2) This paper introduces the working principle of magnetically saturated controllable reactor and the principle of reactive power compensation, and establishes the mathematical model of controllable reactor. Then the modeling and Simulation of magnetically saturated controllable reactor are made with Matlab, and the working current is decreased with the increase of the thyristor conduction angle, which is consistent with the theoretical analysis,which verifies that the reactor is controllable.(3) In this paper, Magnet and Simulink software are used to simulate the working process of UHV magnetic saturation controllable reactor, adding the control system, the control winding of DC is not added manually, than the original single simulation reactor increased automatic, controllable reactor of volt ampere characteristic and control characteristic, through the contrast in the error within the allowable range, to verify the accuracy of the co simulation.Subsequently, the voltage regulation of the controllable reactor is studied, and the control law of the controllable reactor in the transmission network is derived, and the value of the reactor is changed by adjusting the angle. In the distribution network, the design of the reactor control system based on the calculation of the amplification factor. Finally simulation grid reactivepower compensation control simulation system is established, obtained by the simulation results and theoretical analysis are consistent, it provides a good foundation for the experiment.(4) Due to the magnetic saturation controllable reactor in the power grid, it is required to detect the voltage and current in the grid, and the instantaneous reactive power method is adopted, which can quickly detect the current, which is fast and convenient. As slow speed MCU, detection accuracy is not up to the requirements, this paper chooses the DSP TMS320F28335 as main control chip, then make the current and voltage detection circuit, a zero synchronization signal circuit, drive circuit, main circuit and control circuit, and make the control system software design, including the main program and a / D conversion subroutine and the PID control module.
