Automotive wheel is an important part of the car, it gives the direct visual impression in appearance, it’s safety directly affects the driving safety, stability and comfort.The driving force of the car is passed through the wheel,if the wheels are broken, it will occur a serious traffic accident.The intensity damage of the wheel by accident is the main way that occurs damage.The reason why people study fatigue of the wheel is that they hope the wheel will not damage within is normal life.so fatigue of the wheel is an important indicator of the quality of the wheels. Wheel fatigue damage includes bending fatigue damage and radial fatigue failure, bending fatigue damage is the major damage.Currently, automotive wheel has two main materials:steel-alloy and aluminum-alloy. The latter has more advantages than the former:high dimensional accuracy and fast heat dissipation. It is one of the important parts of the vehicle weight reduction. Estimating the fatigue life of aluminum-alloy wheels can identify potential structural problems, shorten the development cycle, reduce design blindness and reduce costs.The purpose of the issue is to use the scientific method to design finite element model of aluminum-alloy wheels and do some analysis in the early stage of product design. By using local stress-strain method to predict the life of aluminum-alloy wheels. By using MATLAB GUI program to design the calculator life of aluminum-alloy wheels.By designing the bending fatigue test rig to verify the correctness of the method to make it a set of sophisticated methods. So it can be widely applied in the actual design process. It can make the designed products to achieve structural optimization and lightweight, improve product quality, shorten the development cycle.
