Medical and health issues have always been the main concerns for many people in this world. Nowadays, the physically disabled population is growing rapidly; however, there is a severe scarceness of humanized medical equipment. It is critical to develop these high-tech, intelligent medical equipment with independent intellectual property rights. With the improvement of people’s living standard and sufficient daily materials, the aging population is growing fast in general. Various diseases, illnesses, and accidents are reasons leading to a hike of physical disabilities amongst human beings. It is desperately in need for a kind of medical equipment to assist with bodily exercise and muscle strengthening. Therefore, our company has developed a household-use wellness machine focusing on restoring muscles on lower body. This product will benefit in better blood circulation, assist with restoring muscle strength, and it being user-friendly. This wellness machine contains both great commercial and practical market value.The design of household type lower limbs physiotherapy is based on the following aspects: body structural analysis data, the overall planning confirmation, mechanical design, electromechanical control, and stress and modal analysis. To determine the reference standard product size, it is conducted through inquiring and analyzing the lower limb movement mechanism data. The data includes physical dimensions, bodily structures, and the angular range of joint motion. The Crank-Rocker mechanism is used to simulate the human walking habits by comparing a variety of plans in order to be identical to human walking tracks. The statics and kinematics mathematical model is also established to analyze and calculate the key mechanical parts. Along with utilizing the PLC controlling system combining with a touch-screen display monitor to control and operate the product. All of the above features enhance the human handling and operation of the machine. Characteristic in simple and convenient operation serves the purpose and mission of being “People Oriented”. Finally, ANSYS software is used to ensure that key components of the product are meeting the design requirements of fatigue strength and to avoid resonance between the device and motor. This is significant in improving product quality, extending the longevity of the product, and protecting the safety of consumers.The household type lower limbs physiotherapy designed in this thesis can effectively improve lower limb movement for users such as elderly individuals and patients with Muscular Dystrophy. The product controlling system is stable, easy to use, and simple to operate. It is designed to satisfy various forms of body movements and featured with compact and light weight. This product is also long-lasting and can effectively allow consumers to operate safely in order to achieve the practical means of this wellness equipment.
