As an important part of urban traffic, highway tunnel will cause great inconvenience to the life of people once destroyed. Therefore, it has an important social value and economic significance to ensure the seismic safety of these structures. In this paper, based on three sections of the tunnel in Japan, UC-WCOMD finite element software is used to establish numerical model and carry out seismic calculation according to the actual situation of the tunnel. The seismic performance evaluation will be made according to the seismic response of the tunnel, and the reinforcement design will be made for those which do not meet the requirement of seismic. The method of tunnel cross section including principles, advantages and disadvantages of four kinds of seismic analysis are compared in this paper, and the application of dynamic time history analysis method is used in this paper at last. The paper mainly discussed some problems about Cell division、Calculation range、Constitutive model and Dynamic boundary conditions on numerical model building process to ensure main calculation parameters of tunnel dynamic response analysis. Based on the establishment of tunnel model, using UC-WCOMD finite element software to analyze the dynamic response of the tunnel, a series of seismic response results are obtained, which mainly includes the foundation soil, the relative displacement of the structure and the deformation of the layer, the deformation and damage of the structure. The concrete reinforcement scheme is put forward for the structure that does not meet the requirements of seismic performance, and the seismic response analysis of the tunnel is carried out again after reinforcement.Through this research, I got the following conclusions: the weak part of the tunnel is mainly concentrated in the middle column, middle wall and side wall and roof, floor, in the design and construction should be taken as the key part. About three highway tunnels in this paper, under the action of earthquake, Tunnel B and Tunnel C are bound by soil around, the deformation is more uniform, while the bias tunnel of A has lager deformation to one side without soil, the seismic performance of the structure is poor. By adding a new column in the right side of the structure to reinforce design of the tunnel A, which is equivalent to increasing the lateral stiffness of the structure. The calculation results show that: the residual deformation and the maximum deformation angle between the two layers of the structure is significantly reduced, and no more than the allowable value, the reinforcement effect of the structure is well, and it can satisfy the requirements of the seismic performance of the tunnel. The results of the research can provide useful reference for the similar tunnel engineering.
