With the rapid development of inland waterway shipping industry and Internet, there emerges an explosive growth of varieties and numbers of various waterborne data and inland water transportation enters upon the era of big data. Traditional service mode and application based on electronic navigational chart can no longer meet the demands of ship users. A significant project has appeared, that is how to promote the intelligent level of navigation information service and ship navigation by means of Internet. Under such circumstances, this paper explores the following areas:(1) Intelligent service mode:study of line mode and point mode. This paper analyzes the limitations of traditional service mode. Combined with waterborne location big data, a new system architecture of intelligent service has been established. Inspired by ship meteorological navigation and radar and aimed at inland sailors’explicit needs and implicit needs, two new intelligent service modes have been designed-line mode based on navigation route and point mode based on location.(2) Data structure and display method of line file and point file. According to the standard of the Yangtze River Electronic Channel Chart, this paper defines the data structure of line file and point file, adds the partial key attributes of some objects, and designs 27 representative symbols for objects in both files.(3) Data mining and data analysis on the basis of R. In the study of water level data mining in line file, it analyzes the process of predicting water level, creates multiple linear regression model and evaluates the predicted water level value and the predicted water depth data in the future. Through data analysis, it extracts the most shallow water depth point in the future. In the study of water depth data analysis in point file, it compares the real-time water depth data with the ship’s smallest safe water depth and chooses the deep water points around the ship in the range of 500 meters. Then the green safe navigable water area is surrounded by the deep water points.New intelligent service mode can perfectly make up for the disadvantages of such traditional navigation information service as electronic channel chart and notice to mariners, which will tremendously promote the information service and intelligence level. It can provide safe, high-efficient and green navigation scheme for ships and reduce ship damage, cargo damage, pollutants emission and the cost of navigation. It can also facilitate the information process of the whole shipping industry, improve the ability and level of social service and bring huge economic profits and social benefits, which has a very promising future of application.
