With the rapid development of avionics system, cockpit display system based on ARINC661turned into the hot spot of current research. Definition File, which introduced in ARINC661, isessentially definitions of graphical user interface between CDS(Cockpit Display System) andUA(User Application). Product design files according to the definition file is very importantwhen new products of Cockpit Desplay System is researched. The paper focuses on analysis ofdefinition files, discusses the open CDS Design File development platform and elaborates theplatform architecture and implementation details.Firstly, the paper introduces the development course of airborne display device, presents apanorama of ARINC Specification661. Then, detailed analysis of the design process andprinciples of CDS based on ARINC Specification661is made. The basic concept of DF andProduct Design File is focused on. According to the demand, capabilities of the Design Filedevelopment platform are put forward.In next step, DF analyzer and Graphic rendering technology is studied. Based on the conceptof widgets template Library and the predefined symbols,the paper focused on the parsing processof DFs and realization of fast analyzation of predefined symbol block, predefined picture blockand layer block. Based on the technique of what you see is what you get and key techniques ofgraphics rendering, such as graph rotation, translation and filling is achieved.Finally, Design File development platform is studied and a set of classes which are used toread/write word documents is packaged. Management module for conversion of design files isdeeply studied. The paper achieved main functions such as table tree design, context edit, formatdesign and Progress monitoring. Document format configuration file which is used to define andsave the format of document and belong to format custom module is introduced. According to thespecific requirements to the design file, the design of various special formats is focused on andcompleted. At last, all the functional module of the platform is tested on a concrete windowdefinition and a complete conclusion which verifies the feasibility of the system design is got.The running result of the system shows that the resove solution of Definition File introducedin this paper is correct and feasible. The system can draw pictures efficiently. The Design Filedevelopment system has a humane interface. With it, Users can get Design File automatically formDefnintion File.
