With the development of industrial production, the demand of automation is becoming more and more prominent. Electroplating industry development in our country develops relatively slowly and has not formed a complete industrial structure. Especially in electroplating industry, the workpiece is loaded and unloaded by artificial. That not only requires much labor, but also inefficient. Which become the urgent problems to be solved in automation of electroplating production. In order to solve those problems, a set of loader and unloader device is designed in this paper for upright hang the piston rod based on the existing hanger. The research of this paper mainly includes the following aspects:(1) Under circumstance of not interfering with the existing equipment, analyze the whole loading process actions and design the structures of every functional parts which based on the existing production line and the real production station. Then the working principle、monolithic construction and the sizes of the loader are confirmed. Finally the three-dimensional model and motion simulation are carried out.(2) Analysis the function of the existing hanger, then improve its structure on the basis of electroplating. The automatic unloader for piston rod is designed which main include firm its monolithic construction and give its three-dimensional model.(3) Choosing the right type of the standard parts and electrical components which are used in this design by related calculation. Some sizes of the equipment are tested by finite element analysis.(4) Analysis on the working principle and every equipment actions of this mechanical structure, to design the electrical control part of this equipment. Writing the control program and drawing the flow diagram. Finally the simulation test is completed to confirm that the feasibility of this control program is right by choosing the PLC. The man-machine interface of loader control system is designed.The device of loader and unloader for upright hang the piston rods researched in this paper can realize load and unload some piston rods at the same time. Meanwhile it supplies the reference for the design and manufacture of load and unload device for upright hang the axial parts.
