Yuwang Hill Anti-Japanese Battle Memorial Park Planning And Design Strategy Research

As a kind of Topic Park in the urban park, War Memorial Park is characterized by emphasizing a distinctive theme and which would run through the planning and design of the park. Currently, due to the continuously strengthened excavation of spiritual and cultural value in war remembrance by our government department and the gradually deepened pursuit in cultural spirit of citizens, War Memorial Park gradually evolve into a type of relatively integrated functional urban park. It is therefore reasonable that by no means can the conventional memorial form fulfill the spiritual needs of folks. Under the circumstance of which, the demand of the visitor’s experience is ever increasing.This thesis is based on the practice about planning and design of Yuwang Hill Anti-Japanese Battle Memorial Park. The academic approaches such as field research literature research and design demonstration are utilized into this paper. Combining with the available literature and theoretical research both here and abroad, this paper made a classification study on the similar cases. The process of planning and design principles and methods of War Memorial Park are analyzed and summarized according to the above content. Furthermore, based the theory of place spirit and environmental psychology semiology, War Memorial Park planning and design strategy, aimed at planning& positioning planning& layout and theme building, is proposed in this thesis.
