On Design Of Building Complex Based On Urban Space Theory

The thesis discusses the design of building complex based on urban space theory while initially studying the unique design of building complex. The design of these building complexes is based on the building of form unit in urban space. The design integrates some inherent features of cities. The buildings produce the distinctive "urban cognition", which are called "buildings with urban characteristics" in the thesis, which includes 5 parts.Part Ⅰ, at first, studies the theoretical connotations of urban space, e.g., components of urban space such as plot, street and building; and the inherent features of urban space, e.g., public, diverse, mixed and complex features as well as the urban fractal structures. It also discusses relevant theories. Before conclusion, it studies the building complex that includes and combines the urban elements and properties as the subject of building complex design study with urban characteristics in the thesis.Second, the thesis studies the spatial formation, structuring approaches, design effect, value and expansion of building complex based on urban space theory.Part Ⅱ studies the space composition of building complex based on urban space :heory. The methods include integration of urban unit forms, e.g., transport extensions, regional cutting and duplication of properties, thus realizing movement ind transition of landscape nodes, square and facade in urban public space to buildings while forming the "single", "combined" and "community" prototype of urban space.Part Ⅲ studies the structuring approaches of building complexes based on urban space theory. It contains the similarity of urban space, e.g., the "urban form mark" and "urban function mark", and the involvement of urban space, e.g., "connecting urban vision", "representing urban texture" and "extending the urban socializing."Part Ⅳ discusses about the building complex based on urban space theories forming the unique design effect, the urban intermediary space and venues, generating the dual urban visions and establishing the Montage psychological effect.Before conclusion, Part Ⅴ studies its value and outlook. The building complex based on urban space theories provides value for improving urban involvement of citizens, urban ecology.Be helpful for humanized texture in pursuit of returning urban space, etc.The building complex based on urban space theories constitutes the "form+ connotation" in urban units, producing the impression of "miniature city" and functioning as the development node of city orientation of buildings and building orientation of cities.
