At present, the circulating cooling water system is widely used in power plants. During it’s operating process, the problems of scaling, corrosion of metal and the growth of microorganism appear in the circulating cooling water system. So that water treatment must be carried out. The traditional chemical water treatment method is to add a large number of chemicals in the circulating water to achieve descaling sterilization, algae removal and corrosion inhibition. This method requires a large number of chemical costs, and causes pollution to environment. Hence it increases a lot of economic burden to the power plant, but also does not meet the national policy requirements of energy-saving emission reduction.To solve the problem, this paper proposes a pulsed high-voltage electrostatic water treatment monitoring system. Pulsed high-voltage electrostatic water treatment device is a new type of physical water treatment device, which consists of two parts, a pulse power and a water treatment chamber. The high-voltage pulse power supply is used as a power source for the water treatment chamber. A high-voltage pulse electric field is generated between the stainless steel rod and the device enclosure in the water treatment chamber to realize the water treatment of circulating water. The pulsed high voltage electrostatic water treatment device has the advantages of simple operation, low operating cost, no the environment pollution. It can effectively solve the problems existing in the circulating cooling water system.Firstly, the structure design of the water treatment device’s chamber has been done by analyzing of electric field intensity and distribution in the water treatment device’s chamber. The distribution of electric field intensity in the chamber is simulated by ANSYS finite element analysis software to realize the design of stainless steel rod and the water treatment chamber’s optimum diameter.Secondly, the high voltage DC power supply circuit, the trigger pulse control circuit and high voltage pulse generation circuit are designed. According to the functional requirements of the monitoring system of the pulsed high voltage electrostatic water treatment, the monitoring system of the pulsed high voltage electrostatic water treatment is designed. PLC is used as the controller of the monitoring system to realize the pulse power amplitude’s control, the data acquisition of temperature, polarization rate and vacuum degree. The data detected will be uploaded to the host computer monitoring software via a wireless communication module. PC monitoring software is designed by VB, achieving the data storage, data query, curve display, alarm records, abnormal data alarm function.Finally, experimental results verify its effectiveness that the pulsed high voltage electrostatic water treatment device. It has good effect on anti-fouling, descaling, sterilization. Host computer software achieves the functions of parameters’ display, saving, printing and alarming.The parameters of the water treatment device can be adjusted via the host computer and HMI devices, achieving the monitoring of pulse high-voltage electrostatic water treatment.
