| As the backbone of our public transportation in the city, the urban metro system is like the microcirculation, an extension of the railway to the city. The efficient and convenient transfer between them can promote the linkage between the inside and outside of the city traffic system. With the improvement of comprehensive transportation system, the transfer space between railway station and urban metro system has been developed gradually. As the spatial carrier, the transfer space has formed the mode of a relatively stable spatial organization, but the transfer efficiency and the spatial quality needs to be improved. On the other hand, the spatial organization mode of railway station in our country is relatively closed because of the problem of security and real-name train ticket. It is almost separated from the city space and difficult to be functional of urban public space.This thesis is focusing on the transfer space between the urban metro system and railway station. Because the transfer efficiency is low and user experience is poor, the concept of comprehensive transfer space (transfer space combined with the urban public space) is introduced. On one hand, comprehensive transfer space is efficient in the transfer between urban metro system and railway station. One the other hand, it improves the user experience and combines transfer space and urban space. Comprehensive transfer space, at the same time, has the function of city and traffic. It can improve the efficiency of the transfer space, also help the railway station to exert the function of urban catalyst and achieve a win-win situation of city and traffic.This paper summarizes the existing problems and space characteristics on the basis of literature research and field investigation of transfer space between railway station and urban metro system in our country; Then the concept of comprehensive transfer space and its multiplicities are introduced including the difficulty and principle for design of comprehensive transfer space, and design methods of comprehensive transfer space are concluded combining the relevant cases; Finally, the comprehensive transfer space is tried in case of Beijing west railway station; Eventually come to the conclusion and design proposal are put forward. |
