Chinese traditional gardens have a long history and rich content. It also have a very high value for further research. Chinese traditional gardens trends rooted in the Chinese traditional culture system, growing with the development of Chinese traditional aesthetics theories in parallel.It based on the Chinese traditional concept of natural landscape, the development of a unique artistic conception of the aesthetic foundation, and with the physical space of the garden together to create a complete aesthetic foundation of ancient Chinese gardens. It can be said that the garden artistic conception is the aesthetic spirit system frame of Chinese ancient garden.This article focus on the aesthetics expression on horizontal tablets in Chinese ancient gardens as the starting point, selecting aesthetics expression on plaques and physical spaces in Xiyuan imperial garden Beihai area in the Qing dynasty as the research sample, with garden plaques artistic expression method with the real space relevance as the research target, combing China traditional garden artistic conception of history origin; combing the artistic conception of aesthetics expression on plaques and function of context of historical development of Xiyuan garden in Beihai from historical background to the classification of contents of aesthetics expression on plaques in Beihai area, to study and summarize the theory and method of relevance to the garden aesthetics expressions on plaques and physical space, and proposing the strategies and suggestions on the Modern landscape architecture practice in Chinese traditional garden from Aesthetic appreciation of artistic conception aspects.
