In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy, the demand for electricity is showing rapid growth trend, and then the construction of the grid is also accelerated the pace of progress, at the same time, transmission line voltage levels are constantly improving, so it will generate an electromagnetic field in the vicinity of the line. EMI of power systems not only affect the normal and stable operation of power system equipment, but also cause harm to human health, but because of the electromagnetic fields invisible and intangible, so it is often very easy to overlook the presence of an electromagnetic field and the hazards that electromagnetic environmental degradation could bring biological organisms.Importantly, high-voltage transmission lines may cross a public activity area, even into the city, people on environmental awareness and rights awareness gradually increased, it could lead to electromagnetic pollution problems more and more attention. The electromagnetic field distribution study of transmission lines is very necessary, which primarily provides the necessary theoretical basis for reliable, safe and stable operation of power system equipment.Firstly, the basic theory of electromagnetic fields and various methods of transmission line electromagnetic field numerical calculation were discussed and compared in detail, and the simulation program of charge simulation method is compiled by using MATLAB, in order to analyze and research the factors of influencing the next transmission line frequency electric field distribution, including the line-to-ground wire height, phase distance, divide the number of wires and wire arrangement, and so on. Next, various major and actual projects run the models of transmission lines are built by using the finite element simulation software Ansoft Maxwell, including a horizontal arrangement, triangular arrangement, with the same tower double circuit arrangement and four-circuit lines on the same tower arrangement, simulation studies and summarizes the distribution of the electric field under different arranged ways, then, measures are proposed for reducing frequency electric field strength of transmission line. Moreover, taking into account the non-ideal ground plane model of actual project, therefore simulation models under different ground plane are established by using Ansoft Maxwell and analyze variation law of power frequency electric field when curve of the plane will be seen as an approximate horizontal plane, even function, odd function and even non nonsingular. Then, simulation program of transmission line frequency magnetic field is compiled using MATLAB, the factors affecting the magnetic field distribution have been analyzed and distribution law of frequency magnetic field is summarized, measures to reduce magnetic field are proposed; Finally, frequency electromagnetic field simulation calculation software platform is compiled using MATLAB/GUI that is used in different ways under transmission lines, you can provide visualization for variation law of frequency electromagnetic field in a different engineering models and different arrangements by using the software, in addition, research of the frequency electromagnetic field distribution law is also realized under different factors, which provides a certain reference value for the optimization of electromagnetic environment and construction of transmission lines.
