Similarities And Differences Between Shanghai And Tianjin Concession Gardens In The Late Qing Dynasty To The Republic Of China

The emergence of the concession gardens is not as negative as its historical background, but as an important cultural exchanges, has played a great role to the development of Chinese garden, it promoted the birth of Chinese park, and it is the important node of the development of Chinese garden.Choose both Shanghai Concession and Tianjin Concession as the most representative of the China’s concessions, to study their history respectively in the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China of the concessions and the concession gardens, and study respectively of the origin of both concession gardens, different types of concession gardens, activities in concession gardens, concession gardens features, the development of gardens, application of garden plants and the influence of the cultural infiltration of local gardens, etc., were analyzed using literature research, comparative analysis and other ways to find out the characteristic features of different regions concession gardens and summarize its possession in common, concession gardens will be studied as a system. This paper compares the approach to the study China’s concession gardens, I look forward to more in-depth to understand and analyze the concession gardens, provide some inspiration for the protection and use of concessions and the development of modern landscape architecture, as well as provides a new research perspective for the study of the China’s concession gardens.
