A Preliminary Study On Municipal Construction Of French Concession In Modern Tianjin

The French Concession in Tianjin was established in 1861 and returned to China in 1945.After more than 80 years of development and construction,the French Concession has been built from scratch into one of the most advanced and infrastructural areas in Tianjin.This thesis discusses the process of municipal construction in the French Concession in Tianjin.In view of the fact that there has more historical studies in the current study of the French Concession,but few studies on the specific construction content,more research on a certain time node and less research about construction development changes,it is aimed at combing through the construction process of French Concession.The innovative development of roads,drainage,transportation systems,recognizes the characteristics of the French Concession in municipal construction from the perspective of urban development.To provide a new perspective and idea for understanding the urban development of French Concession in Tianjin,and evaluating its historical value.The main part of this thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter clarifies the research purpose and significance of the thesis,explains the meaning of municipal administration,and clarifies the research content.The second chapter briefly describes the construction background of French Concession in Tianjin and its expansion and development from the perspective of historical development,and divides the development stage of municipal construction.The third chapter focuses on road construction and analyzes the contents of planning,road innovation,public lighting,and greening.The fourth chapter focuses on the construction of water supply and drainage,and discusses the related problems of sanitary environment in the French concession.The fifth chapter combs the construction of communication and transportation system,including trams,Bridges,docks,telephones,and discusses the relationship between the transformation of transportation and urban development.The sixth chapter discusses the management system and management model of concession municipal construction,and summarizes the impact of municipal construction on land prices.
