The industry of Liaoning Province realized rapid development With Strategy of Revitalizing Northeast old industrial base In these years.However it caused a certain impact to power consumer in this area with the the Electric load has excessive increased. Static Var Compensator has been used widely in industry and power because of the characterisitics of fast response speed and cost-effective. Compared to ordinary electronic triggered thyristor( ETT), light triggered thyristor( LTT) has two major advantages, such as direct light triggering and built- in BOD protection,resulting in much higher reliability, lowermaintenance work, and lower costs of valve tower. As gainingmore applications and lower costs, there are great prospects for LTT technologyin HVDC transmission and distribution, includingconverter valves, and static var compensators(SVC), etc.In this thesie deply researched the Load and power quality problems in Anshan220 kv Substation Liaoning province then proposed the technology of 66 kV straight hanging static var compensators based light triggered thyristor to solve this problem.
