Bucket is one of the main work tool for wheel loader, it’s the main factor for wheel loader performance, impact wheel loader’s productivity, fuel efficiency and operation cost for customer, probably impact wheel loader’s performance and product’s competitive. At the same time, align with the energy consumption and sustainability, producers and customers is being more focus on fuel efficiency and productivity. Especially, customers have higher expectation on fuel efficiency. Can improve productivity, bucket full fill factor, fuel efficiency and product competitive via bucket optimization.The high performance bucket mentioned in the research was designed based on the standard bucket construction and work model. Finish the improvement with considering the equipment and fixture on hand, also include the process. Board plate is the main part in the bucket, can improve bucket full fill factor, material maintenance ability and then improve product’s productivity and fuel efficiency via more reasonable design, construction and factors. The research is based on current 63X wheel loader, main focus on the bucket’s performance, parameters and performance validation, main content including following four items:First, introduce the relationship between bucket performance and wheel loader performance. Bucket shows the wheel loader’s performance directly, the bucket’s performance will affect wheel loader’s productivity and fuel efficiency.Second, introduce the volume calculate theory based on JB/T8113, analyze the STD bucket’s volume based on the JB/T8113 and analyze the safety and visibility performance. Bucket’s volume includes flat volume and upper volume. The flat volume is the basis for bucket volume and will be not affected by the bucket’s full fill performance. The upper volume is variable volume and will be affected by the bucket’s full fill performance. Validate the rated volume for STD bucket via volume calculation.Third, clarify the improve directions based on the research of STD bucket and industry buckets. Including material maintenance, visibility and safety performance. Use objective function theory to optimize, confirm maximum flat volume as the target function, restrictions includes insertion resistance, dump clearance, break out force and visibility. Design new bucket based on the optimized factors. Analyze the new bucket’s performance via volume calculation, visibility analysis and relief analysis.Forth, design comprehensive validation test based on the research for applications and work models. Validate machine’s performance including productivity, fuel consumption and fuel efficiency via simulating three typical work models. Validate STD and high performance bucket’s performance based on the performance test.
