Location-aware is the core component of the intelligent transportation system, and it also plays an important role in many other applications. Telematics system, autonomous vehicles and the traffic guidance system cannot work without real-time and accurate location based service. However, most of the location based service systems used in the transportation field are based on GPS and dead reckoning. Its real-time positioning accuracy for moving targets is generally only about 10 meters level. So it has been far from enough to satisfy the needs of high precision locating service in traffic field. In order to realize the real-time positioning for moving target at sub-meter level, we need to establish the ground based augmentation system and use it correct system error about satellite positioning effectively. It is also one of the most promising research directions to improving the positioning precision of navigation products in transportation field.Based on the analysis of the development and application status about international and domestic CORS system as well as the existing problems in traffic field of our country, the thesis designs the BeiDou SMR ground-based augmentation system for lane level applications. It achieves the real-time positioning at sub-meter level for mass moving targets by single base station. In this thesis, the emphasis is how to design and construct the platform of the BeiDou satellite ground-based augmentation system with sub-meter level time-space service. The platform includes the subsystem of BeiDou ground-based augmentation base station and antenna and the data processing center about BeiDou ground-based augmentation. Taking the BeiDou ground-based reference station in Ji’nan City for example, the thesis analyzes the planning and construction of the BeiDou ground-based reference station, gateway platform and data center. The thesis summarizes a comprehensive design and construction scheme about the platform of the BeiDou satellite ground-based augmentation system with sub-meter level time-space service. Then the thesis carries on the quality testing about the observation data of the BeiDou ground-based reference station using two methods. One is comparing with the post-processing results and the other is dynamic detection with the locus of a geometric shape. According to the result tested by the experiments, we summarize the data quality test scheme of the platform. The most innovative aspect of this research is improving the real-time positioning precision of moving targets from meter to sub-meter level by BeiDou ground-based augmentation system. And it is convenient for the better management of road vehicles.At last, we mainly analyze the orientation module of the intelligent bus-supervised system. The test vehicle verifies the positioning accuracy of the system. The experimental result shows that the BeiDou SMR ground-based augmentation system for lane level applications can realize the real-time positioning at sub-meter level for mass moving targets. And the GPS data of the test vehicle agrees well with the digital maps. Therefore, the system has a very high practical value.
