With the enlargement of urbansize, more and more cities are paying attention to low floor tram which has the characteristics of low carbon environmental protection and economic application. The main difference between low floor tram and traditional urban rail vehicle is the use of different types of bogie. Traditional urban rail vehicle uses the traditional wheel, due to the axle connecting two wheels, the height of floor from rail top is larger and not convenient to get off the passengers. But, low floor tram uses independent rotating wheels which can reduce the height of axle or cancle the axle to reduce the the height of floor surface. This technical improvement not only solves the difficulties of passengers on and off, but also save the design cost of the platform.For the change of bogie structure and car body structure, the small curve performance of low floor tram has great difference with traditional urban rail vehicles. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct the dynamic analysis of the whole vehicle when studying the small curve performance of low floor tram.In this paper, the simulation analysis of the four module 100% low floor tram is carrid out using the SIMPACK dynamics simulation software. First, this article introduces the origin and development of low floor tram, as well as the application status of low floor tram and bogie both at home and abroad. Then, the author has deduced the creep force formula of independently rotating wheel and established the dynamic equations of independently rotating wheel, using the knowledge of dynamics of multi rigid body system. Subsequently, the analysis model of four module 100% low floor tram is established by SIMPACK simulation software, and the modeling methods of key components are pointed out.The simulation model of four module 100% low floor tram is tested by changing a series of suspension stiffness and joint stiffness. Through the above approach, the main influence parameters are summarized in contrast with the small curve performance indicators. In addition, the functions and features of the anti-kink system are introduced, low floor tram which has anti-kink system is compared the small curve performance indicators with low floor tram which has no anti-kink system.Finally, the small curve performance of low floor tram in different curve, such as S curve, C curve is analyzed. The analysis results help the designers to select a reasonable curve combination.
