Low floor vehicle as a new type of urban rail transit system,has the advantages of lower floor height(generally below 400mm),more convenient when passengers get on and off the vehicle,shorter station dwell time,larger daylighting area,etc.Its capacity,operation stability and driving comfort are better than the bus,and have the function of urban tourism.The orbit of low floor vehicle can be directly laid on the existing city streets,construction cost is only20%-30% of the subway,and less pollution,shorter time limit for a project.So as a kind of ideal urban public transportation systems,low floor vehicle has a very broad prospect for development in China.As a key component of the vehicle,wheelset cannot be domestic.In this paper,with the demand of vehicle manufacturers,by comparing the domestic and foreign existing variety of design scheme of low floor vehicle wheelset,and with reference to relevant standards,the independent wheel axle system overall technical solutions have been put forward,including portal axle,built-in axle box,primary spring installation interface,transmission interface,current braking system design,such as to determine the technical plan and design drawings.The compression-shear composite resilient wheels,integral forging portal axle have been designed for independent wheel axle system,and the resilient wheel inside the steel and rubber block have been studied respectively,and at the same time,the static strength and fatigue strength of resilient wheel and overall forging portal axle have been checked separately by finite element software ANSYS,verified the security and reliability of the key parts.Based on the special structure of independent wheel axle system,the special bearing has been chosen for matching,and the theory service life of the bearing worked under the operating condition has been checked,ensuring the theory service life of bearing can meet the requirement of repair cycle of independent wheel axle system,at the same time,the open type tapered roller bearing assembly technique has been designed,in order to solve the assembly problem.The testing scheme of resilient wheel and portal axle has also been studied,and the tests are finally completed,the test results show that the performance of the resilient wheel and integral forging portal axle can meet the design requirements,which can effectively ensure the usability of independent wheel axle performance.
