With the continuous expansion of the scale of power grids, a variety of equipment failures will continue to increase, so the operating state of the electric equipment monitoring, timely detection of electrical equipment fault, maintain a normal and stable operation of the electrical equipment, ensure the security and reliability of power supply is very important. Traditional electrical equipment fault repair, the need for equipment power outage, the timing test and detection, time consuming, waste of energy. Aiming at the shortage of traditional maintenance method is proposed in this paper based on infrared thermal imaging technology of electrical equipment troubleshooting techniques to real-time power, keep the power and running status of electrical equipment monitoring of the equipment of diagnosis and fault analysis ensure timely detection of fault and exclusion, to ensure reliable power supply.First, the paper introduces the background and significance of the research, analysis the current situation of the development of the domestic and foreign electrical equipment diagnosis technology and infrared thermal imaging technology, describes the infrared theory knowledge timely infrared thermal imaging principle, expounds the key technology of infrared thermal imaging, based on NSCT image enhancement technology, PCNN image segmentation method and extract the image characteristics of thermal equipment, SIFT algorithm based on image recognition and analysis of the running state of the equipment. Then introduces the fault of electrical equipment type, equipment fault development and evolution characteristics of and application of infrared technology for the diagnosis and analysis by understanding the fault of electric equipment, presents the application of the relative temperature difference determination method of fault analysis, based on topology matrix correction on the fault location and diagnosis. Finally, the system hardware design and software design, and applied to specific diagnostic equipment, through the examples to prove the feasibility and advantages of infrared diagnosis technology.This paper not only theoretically introduces the principle of infrared technology, described infrared realize the key technology, the electrical equipment fault, from the technical design of infrared diagnosis system, background design analysis software, and through specific equipment fault diagnosis and analysis. It is proved that the infrared technology can effectively analyze the running status of equipment, timely detection of electrical equipment fault and has the advantages of good application flexibility, high resolution and detection range wide, effectively ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment.
