The realization of MH/Ni power battery quick charging, which has solved the traditional battery traveling short and long charging time. MH/Ni power battery quick charging for the city of pure electric bus brings unprecedented opportunities, but how to plan and design to achieve rapid charging system is the key to ensure the normal operation of pure electric bus.Combining with Zibo MH/Ni power battery electric bus project, and according to the characteristics of pure electric bus’s operation in the city and the features of MH/Ni power battery charging, we design planning of the pure electric bus charging operation mode, which named balanced slow charging at night and day 3-4 times quick supplementary charging. We design of the automatic charging system, which real-time display and record the charging status, and realize saw tooth wave to complete small current balance.This paper mainly completed the design, production and debugging:1. This paper designs planning of pure electric bus charging operation mode, and according to the requirements of the pure electric bus power supply parameters and charging, select 2 series 12 pulse rectifier circuit as the main circuit of charging system, designs of charging system "slow charge quickly fill", and used Matlab\Simulink to simulate the harmonic content of system network.2. This paper analysis the rectifier circuit and designs the reactor. And according to the design requirements, we design charging current limiting and over-current protection, voltage protection, phase sequence protection and low water pressure protection.3. Analysis of MH/Ni power battery’s state of charge (SOC), the significance of adopting comprehensive control as a standard by the end of the battery, ensure the safety and reliability of MH/Ni power battery; on the basis of the comprehensive control strategy barometric parameter control method is put forward, and through the experiment proves the feasibility of this method.4. The system uses the PLC and the HMI to realize the machine’s automatic control, and finally combined with Zibo pure electric bus project to finish the adjustment of the charging system, measurement and test charge. The result confirmed the pure electric bus’s slow balanced charging at night and 3-4 times fast supplement changing during the day.
